Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Affordable Glass Online collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

What we collect
When you place an order. Your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the glass specifications you enter, and your order history. We need these to cut your glass to size, deliver it, and give you a record of what you bought.
When you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure form and are never stored on our website or seen by us. We receive only confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card.
When you contact us. The name, email, phone number and postcode you enter in our contact form, and anything you write in your message.
When you use live chat. Any message you send through the chat widget, along with your browser and page information, is processed by our chat provider so we can reply.
When you subscribe. If you sign up to hear from us, your email address is stored by Mailchimp. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Automatically. Standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. We also use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies to keep your shopping cart working between pages, to remember you if you create an account, and to measure site traffic. Cart and account cookies are necessary — the site cannot function without them. Analytics cookies are not. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though doing so will stop the cart working.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the businesses that help us run the shop:
- Stripe — to process card payments
- Our glass supplier and delivery drivers — the sizes, specifications and delivery address needed to make and deliver your order
- Google Analytics — anonymised site usage
- Mailchimp — email addresses of subscribers only
- Our web host — which stores the website and its database
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years, as Australian tax law requires. Contact form enquiries are kept for two years. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months. Subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Email us at info@affordableglassonline.com.au or use the contact form and we will respond within 30 days.
We cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, such as completed order and tax records.
Security
Our site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Card details never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
