FAQs

What is Affordable Glass Online?

Affordable Glass Online is an Australian glass supplier that lets you order custom-cut glass and mirrors online, in any size you need, without visiting a showroom or waiting on a quote.

Where most suppliers carry a narrow range and expect you to chase them for a price, we carry the full spread on one site: clear, low iron, toughened, laminated, frosted, patterned, reeded, grey and mirrored glass, plus double glazed units, all cut to your measurements.

Enter your dimensions, choose your edgework, and the price appears on the screen straight away. All glass meets Australian Standards, and every delivery is inspected before it leaves us and again when it reaches you.

We deliver free across Melbourne on every order, with no minimum spend.

Melbourne deliveries are handled by our own drivers rather than a general courier. That means your glass is inspected before it leaves us and checked with you on arrival, instead of being left at the door by a freight company.

If you are outside Melbourne, contact us with your postcode and what you need and we will let you know what we can do.

Choose your glass type and thickness from the product range, then select your shape (square or rectangle, or round) and enter the width and length you need in millimetres. Choose your edge finish, tell us whether you need the glass toughened, then add it to your cart and submit your details.

The price updates as you go, so the total you see is the total you pay.

If you are not sure which glass type or thickness suits your job, send us your measurements and tell us what it is for, and we will tell you what we would use. Measuring advice is free, and getting it right at this stage saves a remake later.

You can pay by card through our secure online checkout, and Apple Pay is available at checkout on supported devices.

Because every panel is cut to your measurements and cannot be resold, please check your sizes carefully before you order. Our Refund and Returns Policy sets out where returns and remakes apply.

If you would rather arrange payment another way, or you are ordering on a trade account, email us at info@affordableglassonline.com.au before placing your order.

Edgework is how the cut edge of the glass is finished. It affects both safety and appearance, and it is the option customers most often get wrong.

We offer two edge finishes. Polished means the edge is ground and polished until it is smooth and clear, and it is the right choice anywhere the edge will be visible or touched: shelves, tabletops, table edges, and mirrors without a frame. Unpolished (shown as “None”) leaves the glass with a clean cut edge, which is only suitable where the edge will be fully hidden inside a frame, channel or silicone.

If you are in any doubt, choose polished.

One thing worth knowing: toughened glass must have its edgework completed before it is toughened, so the edge finish needs deciding at the time you order. It cannot be changed afterwards.

Your price is confirmed the moment you place the order.

Production time then depends on what you have ordered. Standard cut-to-size glass and mirrors are the quickest. Toughened and laminated products take longer, because the glass has to be processed after it is cut, and double glazed units longer again.

We will confirm a delivery window with you before dispatch. If your job is time critical, tell us when you order and we will let you know honestly whether the date is achievable, rather than promise something we cannot hit.

Yes. We work with builders, cabinet makers, shopfitters, glaziers and renovation trades on ongoing supply.

If you order regularly, contact us with your typical volume and product mix and we will put trade pricing in place rather than quoting you retail every time.

We also price match. Find a cheaper quote on comparable glass and we will beat it by 5%. Send us the written quote and we will confirm before you order.

You can also send us a message through the Contact Us page, or submit your measurements on any product page to request a quote. We reply to emailed enquiries as quickly as we can.

If you need help measuring, choosing a glass type or thickness, or you have a question about an order already placed, email is usually fastest — you can attach photos and measurements.
