LOW IRON GLASS

Standard clear float glass contains iron oxide, which gives it a green cast. It is most visible in the edge and through thicker panels. Low iron glass has that iron content substantially reduced, producing a glass that is close to colourless.

The difference is obvious wherever colour accuracy matters or the edge is on show: glass shelving over lit displays, frameless shower screens, tabletops and reeded cabinet fronts. Put a sheet of standard 10mm clear next to 10mm low iron and the standard sheet reads distinctly green at the edge.

Available in 4mm, 6mm, 10mm and 12mm. Low iron carries a price premium over standard clear, so it is worth reserving for the jobs where you will actually see the benefit. A shelf inside a dark cupboard will not show the difference; a display shelf or a glazed cabinet front will.

Toughening is available across the range and is required for shower screens, tabletops and balustrades.
