Which thickness?
- 6mm — most wall, bathroom and cabinet shelves up to about 900mm long with light loads.
- 8mm — shower niches, longer spans and heavier items.
- 10mm — long shelves, books, display units and anything heavy.
Toughened, edges and corners
Shelves in a shower or anywhere they could be knocked are best toughened, which makes the glass much stronger and safer if it breaks. Polished edges are standard on shelves. Add safety corners on the product page to take the sharp points off the four corners.
How to measure
Measure the space the shelf sits in. For a shelf between two walls or inside a niche, take 1–2mm off each side so it slides in. Measure the depth from the back wall to where you want the front edge.
