8mmClear Glass Cut to Size

8mm Clear Glass cut to size from $159/m². A 600 × 900mm piece with polished edges is $185.86 ($205.30 toughened), delivered across Melbourne, inner Geelong and the Sydney region.

Heavier shelving, desk protectors and larger tabletops. The point where glass starts to feel substantial and toughening is worth considering. About 20 kg per m².

Sizes have a tolerance of ±2mm. If the glass goes into a frame, recess or opening, enter a size 2–3mm smaller than the space so it fits.
Round toughened glass must be polished, so a round toughened piece is always priced with polished edges.
All 4 corners: the sharp point on each corner is ground off so it won’t catch skin or clothing and is less likely to chip. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops.
All 4 corners are ground to a small 2mm radius for a smoother feel. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops. Default radius is 2mm. Need a larger radius (up to 10mm)? Write it in the order notes at checkout.

Description

8mm clear float glass, the standard glazing used in most Australian homes. It carries a faint green tint that shows in the edge and deepens with thickness; if you need a colourless finish, see our low iron range.

Heavier shelving, desk protectors and larger tabletops. The point where glass starts to feel substantial and where toughening becomes worth considering for anything at handling height.

Weight is roughly 20 kg per m², so a 1m x 1m panel weighs about 20kg. Any panel fitted in a door, beside a door, in a bathroom, or below 500mm from floor level must be safety glass under AS 1288. Specify toughening when you order — toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled afterwards.

Cut to your exact measurements. Choose polished edges wherever the edge will be visible or handled.

HOW YOUR GLASS IS HANDLED

  • All glass meets Australian Standards.

Please check your glass before signing. If anything has been damaged in transit, tell the driver at the point of delivery and we will arrange a remake.

ON DELIVERY DAY

Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
