How ordering works

1. Pick your glass. Thickness and type matter more than most people expect — there is a short guide further down if you are not sure.
2. Enter your size in millimetres. Width and length for a rectangle, or diameter for a circle. The price updates as you type.
3. Choose your edge finish and whether you need it toughened. Both have to be decided before the glass is cut.
4. Order. We cut, polish, pack and deliver.

A minimum charge of $99 per piece applies. On 4mm clear that is roughly a 600 × 600mm panel, so smaller pieces are charged at the minimum.

What we cut

Forty-two products across fourteen ranges, all made to measure:

• Clear float glass — 4mm to 15mm. The everyday glazing for windows, shelves, tabletops and cabinet doors.
• Low iron (super clear) — 4mm to 12mm. Removes the green cast of standard glass where the edge is on show.
• Laminated glass — 6.38mm to 21.52mm, including toughened laminate for balustrades and pool fencing.
• Mirrors — silver, bronze and dark grey, cut and edged to order.
• Acid etched frosted glass — 4mm to 12mm, for privacy without losing light.
• Patterned glass — Satinlite, Cathedral and Spotswood, the three patterns most often replaced in Melbourne homes.
• Narrowline reeded glass — 6mm and 10mm, currently the most requested finish for kitchen and joinery cabinet doors.
• Grey tinted glass — 4mm to 12mm, for glare and solar heat control.
• Double glazed units — 20mm and 24mm, made to your sight size.

Which thickness do you need?

The most common mistake is ordering too thin for the span. As a starting point:

• 4mm and 5mm — picture frames, cabinet doors, small windows, replacement panes in older homes.
• 6mm — the all-rounder. Shelving, cabinet doors, standard glazing, most louvre and door panels.
• 8mm and 10mm — larger shelves, tabletops, heavier applications.
• 12mm and 15mm — structural. Frameless shower screens, balustrades, large tabletops.

If you are replacing an existing pane, measure the old glass rather than the frame opening, at the widest point, and tell us the thickness you already have. If you are not sure, send us the measurements and what the panel is for and we will tell you what we would use. That advice is free, and getting it right at this stage costs a lot less than a remake.

Edge finishes

We offer two, and it is the option customers most often get wrong.

Polished means the edge is ground and polished until it is smooth and clear. Choose it anywhere the edge will be seen or touched — shelves, tabletops, table edges, and mirrors that will not sit in a frame.

None leaves a clean cut edge, which is only suitable where the edge will be fully hidden inside a frame, channel or silicone bead.

If you are in any doubt, choose polished. One thing worth knowing: toughened glass must have its edgework finished before it is toughened, so the edge finish cannot be changed afterwards.

Toughening and safety glass

Under Australian Standards, any panel fitted in a door, beside a door, in a bathroom, or below 500mm from floor level must be safety glass. So must anything that could be walked into, sat on or leaned against — tabletops, shower screens, balustrades and low-level glazing.

Toughening is available across the range and must be specified when you order, because glass cannot be cut or drilled once it has been toughened. Where toughening is not appropriate, laminated glass is often the better answer: when it breaks, the interlayer holds the fragments in place.

This catches a lot of people replacing original panels in older homes, because glass that has sat in a door for fifty years would not meet today’s requirement. Tell us where the panel is going and we will talk it through before you order.

Free delivery on every order across 220 Melbourne suburbs, with no minimum spend. Deliveries are handled by our own drivers rather than a general courier, so your glass is inspected before it leaves us and checked with you on arrival, instead of being left at the door by a freight company.

Pricing

Prices are shown on every product page as you enter your measurements, so you can compare thicknesses and finishes before you commit. There is no quote form standing between you and a number.

We also price match. Find a cheaper quote on comparable glass and we will beat it by 5% — send us the written quote and we will confirm before you order.

Common questions

How accurate are your cuts? Cut to the measurements you give us. Because every panel is made to order and cannot be resold, check your sizes carefully before ordering — measure twice.

Can you cut holes or cutouts? Contact us with a drawing before ordering. Holes and notches must be done before toughening.

Do you supply trade? Yes. We work with builders, cabinet makers, shopfitters, glaziers and renovation trades. If you order regularly, contact us with your typical volume and product mix and we will put trade pricing in place.

What if I do not know what glass I have? Photograph it, ideally with something for scale, and send it through. Patterns in particular are easy to confuse in a catalogue and simple to identify side by side.
