Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or edited after toughening, so the sizes must be final.

Aquarium glass panels cut to size
Each panel is cut from new float glass and all four edges are flat polished, so the panels are safe to handle and ready for silicone. Choose low iron glass for the clearest view of your fish and plants. Standard clear float has a slight green tint that shows most on the edges and through the length of a long tank.
Panels can also be toughened. Toughened glass is several times stronger than ordinary float glass of the same thickness and breaks into small pieces instead of sharp shards. It cannot be cut or drilled after toughening, so plan any holes and confirm every size before you order.
How the panel sizes are worked out
The calculator takes the outside size of the tank and the glass thickness, and works out each panel so the finished tank comes out at the size you entered.
- Walls sit on the base: the base is the full length and depth. The front and back run the full length. The two ends fit between the front and back. All four walls are shorter than the tank height by one glass thickness.
- Base fits between walls: the front and back run the full length and full height. The ends fit between them, and the base fits inside all four walls.
The calculator does not allow for silicone joint thickness. If your builder wants a gap for silicone, adjust the sizes on each panel’s product page instead.
Pricing and delivery
Each panel is priced the same way as our cut to size glass: by area, with a minimum of 0.5 square metres per panel, plus polishing by the metre. Delivery to Melbourne metro, inner Geelong and the Sydney region is included in the total and charged once per order. Glass is delivered kerbside, so have someone to help carry larger panels.
What we do not supply
We cut and polish the glass only. We do not assemble or seal tanks, supply braces, overflow holes or silicone, or advise on the thickness your tank needs. Check the design with your tank builder before ordering.
