More details, delivery & FAQs

Silver mirror

Silver mirror gives the clearest, most accurate reflection, so it is the right choice wherever you actually use the mirror: a bathroom vanity, a wardrobe, a hallway or a full-length mirror. 4mm silver suits most mirrors up to about 1200 × 1800mm. 6mm silver is stiffer, so full walls and gym mirrors stay flat without ripple. Silver can be bevelled or cut round.

Bronze mirror

Bronze mirror has a warm, golden tint. It softens the reflection and adds warmth, which is why it is used on feature walls, bar backs, cafés and cabinet fronts, and for bathroom mirrors in warm-toned rooms with timber or brass. Bronze mirror is 6mm and supplied toughened.

Grey (smoked) mirror

Dark grey mirror, also called smoked or tinted mirror, reflects less light back into the room. It adds depth without making a space look busy, so it suits large feature walls, dark modern interiors and wardrobe fronts. Grey mirror is 6mm and supplied toughened.

Choosing for your room

  • Bathroom vanity: silver, so you see true colour. Bronze or grey only as a feature.
  • Wardrobe doors: silver for a dressing mirror; grey or bronze for a darker, furniture-like finish.
  • Feature wall or alcove: grey or bronze, so the wall reads as a surface rather than a window.
  • Gym or dance studio: 6mm silver.
  • Bar back or kitchen strip: bronze or grey, toughened.

Safety and fixing

Bronze and grey mirrors are toughened, so they suit positions where safety glass is needed; toughened glass cannot be cut afterwards, so sizes must be final. Standard silver mirror is not safety glass; where it could be walked into, ask us about a safety-backed mirror. Fix frameless mirrors with mirror-safe neutral cure silicone and a J-channel or bottom clips. See the mirror cut to size guide for measuring and hanging.

Common questions

What colours of mirror can I get cut to size? Silver, bronze and dark grey. Silver comes in 4mm and 6mm; bronze and grey are 6mm and supplied toughened. All are cut to your exact size with polished edges.

How much is a bronze or grey mirror? A 600 × 900mm bronze mirror is $281.74 and grey is $276.34, delivered in Melbourne and Sydney, toughened with polished edges. The same size in 4mm silver is $173.32.

Is grey mirror the same as smoked mirror? Yes. Grey mirror is often called smoked or tinted mirror. It reflects less light than silver, so it looks softer and darker.

Which mirror is best for a bathroom? 4mm silver mirror is the usual choice for a bathroom vanity: it is the clearest and cheapest. Bronze or grey suit a feature mirror where you want a warmer or moodier look.

Are bronze and grey mirrors safety glass? Our bronze and grey mirrors are supplied toughened, so they suit positions where safety glass is needed. Standard silver mirror is not toughened.
