Near-black privacy tint, far deeper than standard grey. Splashbacks, screening panels and dark fascias. About 15 kg per m².

Melbourne and Geelong delivery only — this glass is not available for Sydney delivery yet.

Sizes have a tolerance of ±2mm. If the glass goes into a frame, recess or opening, enter a size 2–3mm smaller than the space so it fits.
Round toughened glass must be polished, so a round toughened piece is always priced with polished edges.
All 4 corners: the sharp point on each corner is ground off so it won’t catch skin or clothing and is less likely to chip. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops.
All 4 corners are ground to a small 2mm radius for a smoother feel. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops. Default radius is 2mm. Need a larger radius (up to 10mm)? Write it in the order notes at checkout.

Description

6mm super grey float glass. A much deeper tint than standard grey — close to charcoal, and near black when viewed against a dark background. The colour is in the body of the glass, so it cannot scratch off or fade.

Where standard grey is not private enough. Splashbacks over dark stone, TV and appliance fascias, screening panels, and glazing where you want the glass itself to read as a dark surface rather than a window.

Because it absorbs a great deal of light, super grey gets hot in direct sun and shows fingerprints and dust more than clear glass. It also cuts visible light heavily, so it is not the right choice where you still need daylight through the panel. Weight is about 15 kg per m². Any panel fitted in a door, beside a door, in a bathroom, or below 500mm from floor level must be safety glass under AS 1288.

Cut to your exact measurements. Choose polished edges wherever the edge will be visible or handled.

HOW YOUR GLASS IS HANDLED

  • All glass meets Australian Standards.

Please check your glass before signing. If anything has been damaged in transit, tell the driver at the point of delivery and we will arrange a remake.

ON DELIVERY DAY

Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
