GREY GLASS
Grey tinted glass is float glass coloured through the body rather than coated on the surface, so the tint runs all the way through and cannot scratch or wear off. It cuts glare and reduces solar heat gain, and gives a darker, more recessive look than clear glass.
Common uses are windows on hot elevations, glass balustrades where a softer look is wanted, tabletops and cabinet doors. It is also used for privacy: grey glass reads much darker from outside in daylight, so it obscures more than clear glass without going fully opaque.
Available in 4mm, 6mm, 10mm and 12mm. The tint deepens as the glass gets thicker, so a 12mm panel will read noticeably darker than a 4mm one. If you are matching an existing panel, tell us the thickness of what you already have so the colour is consistent.
Toughening is available and should be specified for balustrades, tabletops, shower screens and any low-level glazing.
