10.76mm acoustic laminated glass. It uses a special damping interlayer rather than the standard clear one — the interlayer absorbs the vibration that ordinary glass simply passes through, which is why it outperforms a plain laminate of the same thickness.
At 10.76mm this is for heavier traffic, tram lines and busy intersections.
A word on expectations: glass is only one part of the problem. If the frame leaks air, or there are gaps around the architrave, the noise comes through those instead and better glass will not fix it. Acoustic glass works best where the frame and seals are sound, or are being replaced at the same time.
Being laminated it is also safety glass and blocks almost all UV. It can be cut and edge-worked but not toughened after lamination. Weight is about 27 kg per m².

HOW YOUR GLASS IS HANDLED
Cut-to-size glass does not survive being treated as ordinary freight, so we deliver it ourselves rather than handing it to a general courier.

Please check your glass before signing. If anything has been damaged in transit, tell the driver at the point of delivery and we will arrange a remake.
ON DELIVERY DAY
Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
