Premium acoustic interlayer for low frequency noise — trucks, trams, trains and aircraft. About 16 kg per m².

Melbourne and Geelong delivery only — this glass is not available for Sydney delivery yet.

Sizes have a tolerance of ±2mm. If the glass goes into a frame, recess or opening, enter a size 2–3mm smaller than the space so it fits.
All 4 corners: the sharp point on each corner is ground off so it won’t catch skin or clothing and is less likely to chip. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops.
All 4 corners are ground to a small 2mm radius for a smoother feel. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops. Default radius is 2mm. Need a larger radius (up to 10mm)? Write it in the order notes at checkout.

Description

6.5mm Hush acoustic laminate. A premium acoustic interlayer — thicker and softer than a standard acoustic PVB, which lets it damp a wider band of frequencies, including the low rumble that is hardest to stop.

Where standard acoustic glass has already been tried and is not enough, or where the noise is low frequency: trucks, trams, trains and aircraft rather than general traffic hiss.

As with any acoustic glazing, the frame and seals matter as much as the glass. Replacing glass alone in a leaky frame will disappoint; sealing the frame at the same time is what makes the difference audible.

Being laminated it is also safety glass and blocks almost all UV. It can be cut and edge-worked but not toughened after lamination. Weight is about 16 kg per m².

Cut to your exact measurements. Choose polished edges wherever the edge will be visible or handled.

HOW YOUR GLASS IS HANDLED

  • All glass meets Australian Standards.

Please check your glass before signing. If anything has been damaged in transit, tell the driver at the point of delivery and we will arrange a remake.

ON DELIVERY DAY

Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
