Sizes have a tolerance of ±2mm. If the glass goes into a frame, recess or opening, enter a size 2–3mm smaller than the space so it fits.
Round toughened glass must be polished, so a round toughened piece is always priced with polished edges.
All 4 corners: the sharp point on each corner is ground off so it won’t catch skin or clothing and is less likely to chip. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops.

Description

5mm acid etched frosted glass. The face is etched with acid rather than sprayed or filmed, so the satin finish is part of the glass itself — it will not scratch off, peel or wear thin at the edges the way applied films do.

Door and sidelight panels, bathroom and ensuite glazing, wardrobe and cabinet fronts, and internal partitions. It blocks the view while letting almost all the light through, which is the whole point of it over a solid panel.

One face is etched and the other is left smooth. The smooth face is easier to keep clean, so it usually faces the wet or high-traffic side. Weight is about 12.5 kg per m². Any panel fitted in a door, beside a door, in a bathroom, or below 500mm from floor level must be safety glass under AS 1288.

Cut to your exact measurements. Choose polished edges wherever the edge will be visible or handled.

ON DELIVERY DAY

Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
