8.38mmClear Laminate Glass Cut to Size

8.38mm Clear Laminate Glass cut to size from $196/m². A 600 × 900mm piece with polished edges is $205.84, delivered across Melbourne, inner Geelong and the Sydney region.

Laminated safety glass that holds together when broken. Overhead glazing, external windows and shopfronts. About 21 kg per m².

Sizes have a tolerance of ±2mm. If the glass goes into a frame, recess or opening, enter a size 2–3mm smaller than the space so it fits.
All 4 corners: the sharp point on each corner is ground off so it won’t catch skin or clothing and is less likely to chip. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops.
All 4 corners are ground to a small 2mm radius for a smoother feel. The glass still looks square. Recommended for table tops. Default radius is 2mm. Need a larger radius (up to 10mm)? Write it in the order notes at checkout.

Description

8.38mm clear laminated glass — two sheets of float glass bonded either side of a clear interlayer. If it breaks, the pieces stay stuck to the interlayer instead of falling out of the opening.

The step up from 6.38mm where the span is longer or the panel is more exposed: overhead and sloped glazing, external windows and doors, shopfronts, and anywhere a broken pane has to stay in its frame.

Laminated glass also cuts noise noticeably better than a single sheet of the same thickness, and the interlayer blocks almost all UV, so it slows fading of floors and furniture. It can be cut and edge-worked but not toughened after lamination. Weight is about 21 kg per m².

Cut to your exact measurements. Choose polished edges wherever the edge will be visible or handled.

HOW YOUR GLASS IS HANDLED

  • All glass meets Australian Standards.

Please check your glass before signing. If anything has been damaged in transit, tell the driver at the point of delivery and we will arrange a remake.

ON DELIVERY DAY

Someone needs to be on site to receive and check the order. Larger and thicker panels can be heavy enough to need two people to move safely. If you are unsure about the weight of your panel, ask us before delivery day.
